Caribbean Grilled Burgers with Chipotle Pepper Sauce

Chipotle-Pepper Sauce
1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt
2 tablespoons light mayonnaise
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 to 2 teaspoons chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
1 clove garlic, minced

Seasoning
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon freshly grated lime peel
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice

1 pound ground beef
4 whole wheat hamburger buns, split, toasted
4 slices tomato


Combine Chipotle Pepper Sauce ingredients in medium bowl. Set aside. Combine seasoning ingredients and ground beef in large bowl. Lightly shape ground beef mixture into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.
Place patties on grill over medium heat. Cook 11 to 13 minutes to medium (160°F) doneness, until no longer pink in center and juices show no pink color, turning once.
Spread sauce over cut sides of buns. Line bottom of each bun with tomato slice; top with burger. Close sandwiches. SErve with additional sauce, if desired.
