Art Is Healing The Halls Of Cheyenne Regional

There have been scientific studies that have shown art can be healing and one artist has taken her paintings to the hallways of Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
"Through the Eyes of a Chaplain" consists of 12 paintings from artist and Cheyenne Regional associate chaplain Kathleen Jacobson. All of her work has been inspired by interactions she had with patients over a one year period.
Each piece ranges from spiritual awakenings to end-of-life and near death visions. And while each painting is titled, she says there is no specific story behind them as she wants to leave interpretation up to viewers.
"When people come I want them to look into the painting as if they're looking through a doorway. A doorway into their soul and experiencing what they see into the paintings for themselves because everyone has a different interpretation of my work," Jacobson said.
The paintings will be on display in the North hallway of the hospital until February with an artist reception scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on December 8th.
