Snowmobile Permit Sales On The Decline

Jeff Schuman reports, jschuman@k2tv.com

With a decline in snowmobile registration permit sales in three of the last four years, the state has cut back on trail grooming. There are a number of contributing factors to the lower numbers including a decrease in out of state visitors. and it is having an affect on local dealers.

The state maintains about 2,000 miles of snowmobile trails and has begun grooming two days a week rather than three because of the decrease in revenue due to lower permit sales.
