Body in N.Platte River Identified as Casper Man

The body of the man found in the North Platte river on Monday has been identified as Michael Bender of Casper.

Authorities led numerous search efforts in December to try to find Bender who went missing after walking home from Taylor's sports bar in Evansville. Some rescue groups were made up of friends and family, and some efforts even included cadaver dogs. However, none of the efforts were successful.

Bender's body was found in the North Platte, about 20 feet from the bank. He was found in the clothes he reportadly went missing in, including, blue jeans and a light colored jean jacket.

An autopsy is scheduled Thursday. Authorities say there is no evidence that suggests foul play.
