The Reliant Federal Credit Union teacher of the month is awarded to Marissa Wesnitzer, an art teacher at Centennial Junior High School.
Wesnitzer allows her students to express themselves openly through their
artwork. She says that living without limitations is a life lesson she
hopes they take from the class.
"They have the world by the tail, they can do anything they want. It's theirs," she said.
Her students also teach her a valuable lesson or two. Wesnitzer says they remind her to always have a sense of humor, teach her patience and not to take herself too seriously.
The class is a welcome break from her students rigorous day. It's a chance to be creative without boundaries and blow off steam using the right side of their brain.
