Turkey burgers glazed with orange marmalade
This is a great burger recipe with a sweet twist - orange marmalade
* 1 lb. ground raw turkey * 1 egg, beaten * 1/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs * 1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper * 2 green onions, finely chopped * 2 Tbsp. milk * 1/2 tsp. salt * 1/8 tsp. pepper * 2 Tbsp. orange marmalade * 5 hamburger buns * Sliced onion (optional) * Sliced tomato (optional) * Lettuce (optional) Instructions In a large mixing bowl, combine egg, bread crumbs, green peppers, green onions, milk, salt and pepper. Add turkey and mix well. Shape the mixture into 5, ¾ inch patties. This is a great step to get the kids involved in preparing the meal. They can wash their hands and help mix up the ingredients.
Grill patties over medium heat on an uncovered grill for around 6 minutes. Flip patties and brush with orange marmalade. Grill for another 8-12 minutes, depending on the grill, until the internal temperature registers 165 degrees F on a meat thermometer. For an added touch, try grilling the hamburger buns until golden brown. Place cooked burgers on the bun, and garnish with tomatoes and onions (if desired).
Strawberry S’mores The kids will be thrilled to help make this tasty dessert for dad….and themselves.
1 graham cracker per person 2 Hershey’s chocolate bars 1 package marshmallows 10-15 strawberries, cut in half the long way Directions Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Or, you can use a toaster oven on the counter top Snap each graham cracker in half. Arrange half of the graham crackers on a baking sheet. Place a square of chocolate bar on top of the graham cracker, followed by two strawberry halves and a marshmallow. Place the tray in the oven (or toaster oven) until the marshmallows are gooey and golden-brown on top. Remove the tray, being careful to avoid being burned, and transfer the treats to a platter. Put the other half of the graham cracker on top of the melted marshmallow and enjoy!
