June Unemployment Rate Up

The unemployment rate across Wyoming went up in June. But, the state economist says students getting out of school and joining the workforce were a major factor in the numbers.
In Natrona County, the rate jumped 6-tenths of a percent to 5.2%. In Laramie county, the rate also rose by 6-tenths of a point and now stands at 6.3%.
Fremont County saw a big increase of more than a full percentage point. The jobless rate there is now 6.9%.
Unlike the county figures, the statewide number is seasonally adjusted, which takes into account workforce fluctuations like more students looking for jobs.
That number rose just two-tenths of a point to 5.4%.
