Laramie PD Officer Shoots, Wounds Suspect
A Laramie Police officer shot and wounded a suspect late last night, after the man allegedly assaulted the officer.
Police say the suspect did have a weapon and was shot during an altercation on a car burglary call around 11 p.m. Wednesday night. 26-year-old Kevin Cook is described by police as an aggresseive male who confronted the officer on the 400 block of South 22nd.
The involved officer has been released from the hospital.
As is the case with any officer involved shooting, the officer has been put on administrative leave, and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation has taken over the case. Laramie P.D. spokesman Mitchell Cushman says any charges in the case would come from the DCI.
The suspect, Kevin Cook is reported to be in critical but stable condition at a Colorado hospital.
