Flash Fire Injures 4 in Fremont County
Four contract employees were injured in a flash fire at the Lost Cabin gas plant near Lysite.
A Conoco-Phillips spokesperson says the fire the fire broke out during routine maintenance around 8:30 Wednesday morning. Fremont County Sheriff's Deputy Dave Good says that two of the injured workers received, what he called, "pretty severe" injuries.
Authorities say two of the workers were life-flighted out from the gas plant, and at least one is reportedly at a burn center in Greeley, Colorado.
Another worker was taken to Wyoming Medical Center and another was taken to Riverton Memorial Hospital. The identities of the four workers and their current conditions have not been released.
Conoco-Phillips spokesperson Jim Lowry says the workers are the company's top concern, and that maintenance operations are suspended while the incident is investigated by the company. The Fremont County Sheriff's Office adds that the Department will not be conducting an investigation.
No gas was released into air, and surrounding residents were not affected.
