Lander Shores Up Airport
K2's Victoria Fregoso reports, vfregoso@k2tv.com:
The city of Lander is shoring up a hill near the local airport to keep any possible landslides from threatening the runway.

Public Works Director Mickey Simmons says a landslide occurred on the hill last year because of rain. Simmons says a worst case scenario would involve a landslide getting to the end of the runway at Hunt Field Lander Airport.
The project will cost about $55,000.
"It would continue if we would get more ground saturation stuff," Simmons said. "There's a chance that we possibly have a larger landslide on the actual tarmac."
He says work on the hill should not interrupt regular airport operations.
