Spring Cleaning for Cancer

Spring is a time for cleaning.  But for some in Casper today, Spring is a time for screening.

Rocky Mountain Oncology Center held a free Spring screening clinic for the public worried about having prostate, breast or skin cancer.  The clinic is funded by several programs across the state.  In all about 150 patients were screened in a three-hour period this morning.

"We, as cancer specialists, love to see tumors diagnosed very early," oncologist Dr. Robert Tobin said.  "And if they're diagnosed really early, it could be a very simple surgery.  If we diagnose the cancer very late, then we have to do other things to people."

This is the oncology center's second time holding the clinic.  They say they're doing so well they plan to make this a quarterly event.
