Weather Helps Crews at Horsethief Canyon Fire
Authorities near Jackson say cooler weather and lighter winds are helping keep the fire on the back side of Snow King Mountain from making any big runs.
As of Thursday evening, the Horsethief Canyon Fire burned more than 2,900 acres, and was only 15% contained. Residents on the east side of Jackson are still on alert for possible evacuation, but so far, no one has been forced from their homes.
The fire was human caused, and may have started in the backyard of a home south of town.
