Casper Man Accused of Conspiring to Torch SUV

A Casper man could spend up to 20 years in prison for conspiring to set his ex-girlfriends SUV on fire. 
 
Robert Turner made his first district court appearance Wednesday morning, where he pleaded not guilty to first degree arson charges. 
 
In August, Turner allegedly asked a man to set his ex-girlfriends SUV on fire, while she was inside a Casper bar. According to the police report, money was exchanged but the act was not carried out. Police say in this case, conspiring to committ a crime was the same as committing it. 
 
An attorney representing Turner requested his bond be reduced from $100,000 to $20,000, however the judge denied the motion. 
 
Turner's sentencing will be at a later date.
