Tax Day - Not Too Late For Extensions
K2's Ophelia Young reports, oyoung@k2tv.com:
If your tax returns aren't in today, you have until 12 a.m. on Monday night to file an extension at www.IRS.gov.
When you do, you might get hit with a .05 percent late fee. If you don't file an extension, H&R Block says you might see a penalty of 5 percent per month...perhaps as high as 25% depending on how much you owe the IRS.
H&R Block says only those who owe the IRS should really worry. Even then, it is possible for those whom the IRS owes to be fined as well.
