Casper Police say a missing woman could be the possible drowning victim on Saturday.
Police believe Bobbie Stingham, a name that has surfaced from the public, could be the person rescuers were trying to save early Saturday morning from the icy North Platte River. A call generated from the Showboat Motel Tuesday morning expressed concerns for the whereabouts of Bobbie Stingham.
Around 5 am Saturday, police responded to a call on North Center street, where residents said they heard a yell from help. When police and firefighters arrived, the woman was in the water clinging to ice. Authorities say she lost her grip and disappeared under the ice before rescuers could reach her.
A body has yet to be found at this time.
Any information pertaining to the identity of Stingham should be directed to Casper Police Department Detectives Gudhal or Hatcher at 235-8278.
