Authorities say the woman killed in the crash was 22-year-old Tianna Johnson of Casper and Tyler Johnson, her 11-month-old baby girl. Tyler was first taken to the Wyoming Medical Center and then airlifted to a hospital in Denver where she later died.
A woman and her baby were killed Thursday morning in a single car accident west of Casper. The crash happened in the Goose Egg area on Highway 220.
Wyoming Highway Patrol says the baby was in the back seat of the vehicle and was transported to the hospital, reportedly in stable but critical condition at the time. It later died at the hospital.
Troopers confirm the crash happened just after 7 a.m. Thursday morning and excessive speed is the likely cause of the accident. The woman was traveling west bound, coming around a corner past Goose Egg Road and her vehicle slid down an embankment. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car.
Her name has not been released at this time, but the next of kin has been notified.
