Osama bin Laden is Dead


President Barack Obama announced Sunday night that Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is dead.  

The president said bin Laden was killed by a U.S. military team Sunday.  Sources said he was killed in a compound in Pakistan.  His body is in U.S. custody.  

"Justice has been done," President Obama said.  

Sources say the U.S. waited for the results of a DNA test to confirm his identity.

It has been nearly 10 years since Al-Queda's terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 that killed close to 3,000 Americans.

"We have never forgotten your loss," the president said, referring to the victim's families.
