A Fremont County jury has reached a verdict of guilty on all but on charge in the murder and sexual assault trial of john Hereford. He was found guilty of the second degree murder of his cousin Travis Armajo and the kidnapping and sexual assault of a female victim.
The jury acquitted him on a second sexual assault charge.
The prosecution was led by Fremont County Attorney Michael Bennett, and while he was pleased with the decision made by the jury, he realizes that this was tragedy for all parties involved.
Both the murder and kidnapping charges are punishable by twenty years in prison to life.
The sexual assault charge could add an additional 5-to-50 years behind bars.
The sentencing date has not yet been set.
