As expected, the US government partially shutdown overnight. 800,000 federal employees across the country were told to stay home for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, the big sticking point in any possible agreement on re-opening the government is the continuing debate over ObamaCare. House republicans are demanding that the affordable health care act be defuned or at least delayed. President Obama calls that "demanding ransom" and says it is "not" going to happen.
Ironically, the health insurance marketplace, the website that allows people without current coverage to choose a plan for next year went live this morning.
