A 19 year old Casper man is charged with more than 10 counts against him today in circuit court. After a high speed chase down Poplar Street in Casper late Friday night, police arrested Brenden Westbrook. Police say Westbrook eluded them and reached over 80 miles per hour, before he crashed his truck into a parked car. According to the police report, Westbrook attempted to flee after the crash and resisted officers. As he was resisting, Westbrook is accused of striking an officer in the face with his elbow. The 10 charges against Westbrook are all misdemeanors. Resisting arrest and interference are a maximum of a year in prison. Judge Huber asked the state, if they really wanted to file the long list of charges, the minimal ones being no proper insurance or registration. As the judge read the final charge, he told Westbrook he must have 'ticked' the cops off. According to the report, there was originally a call of shots fired where the incident took place. Westbrook said in court, it was his car, which was just an unsafe car he was working on as a project.
