No More Free Vaccinations For Some Children
Effective July 1st, Wyoming health departments and other providers will no longer provide free shots to children with health insurance plans.
Providers will stop offering the flu shot, along with Gardisil, Meningitis and Hepatitis shots.
Currently, they offer all four for a small administrative fee--$12 each.
But, the population of children has grown, the costs of vaccines have risen, new vaccines have been created and the state can no longer afford all immunizations for all the children.
The only shots the state will continue to pay for are those required for school.
This change will last for at least a year, maybe until a new budget is formed.
