Casper Conference Center Grant

Efforts to build a new conference center in Casper faced a big test today before the Wyoming Business Council in Cheyenne. The council approved a $3 million dollar grant and a $2 million dollar loan for the project. The vote allows the city to move ahead with planning for a potential conference center on the Amoco property near the Three Crowns Golf Course. This is just the first step in a long process that still involves getting a firm commitment from a private developer.     Although the city is solidly behind the project, the owner of the Parkway Plaza made his objections known to the council.
