The Roman Catholic Diocese of Cheyenne entered a lawsuit in January against the requirement in the affordable care act regarding birth control. Representatives from the American civil liberties union say they are entering into the lawsuit to help protect womens reproductive rights and access to heath care. Father Carl Gallinger of Cheyenne St. Mary's responded this morning. He says Wyoming catholic organizations are only trying to maintain their religious freedoms. He says..."This is simply, a battle of beliefs.  we have strong differences with the federal government on this issue."  Father Gallinger went on to say, "We look forward to presenting these differences and arguing for our beliefs in the briefing." A hearing for next month is scheduled in Casper, for the unions request to join the lawsuit.
