Wednesday was moving day at Casper College as the school opened the doors to the brand new Gateway building.

The four-story multipurpose facility will have classrooms, conference rooms, a student lounge, and administrative offices. The Gateway building will also be the new home of the school's workforce majors and will feature drafting, design, and robotics labs.

The new building comes just in time as Casper College has experienced record enrollment over the past school year. "There's a real vibe of excitement on campus," said PR Director Rich Fujita. "For years many programs have been jammed into spaces that weren't really appropriate...this is really the first major chance in about 15 or 20 years to really expand the footprint of campus and allow the physical space that the program needs."

Construction on the Gateway building began approximately 15 months ago and has an estimated cost of $20 million.
