Chief of Casper Police Department Sworn In

K2's Ophelia Young reports, oyoung@k2tv.com:

Christopher Walsh is officially putting away his "Captain" badge to make room on his uniform for another one--engraved "Chief."

Though he's been acting chief since march, he was officially sworn in this morning.  This special day comes after over 20 years of working hard.

Mayor Paul Bertoglio has known Chief Walsh for about 14 years.  He says this wasn't a hard decision, and that everyone is confident Chief Walsh will lead the police department the right way.

Even before today, Chief Walsh is already moving his goals forward.  His largest right now is bringing the force to a full and trained staff.

For the rest of his incumbency, he plans to increase community involvement in the department.

Chief Walsh says he cant ask for more than to be a leader for Casper.
