Douglas Police Investigate Suspected Homicide

Douglas police are investigating a suspected homicide. The department says a 42-year old woman found dead in her apartment may have been murdered.
Police were asked to check on the woman's welfare at her apartment on the south 100-block of Riverbend Drive. The person who called was concerned, because the woman had not been seen in the last few days.
Police found the body inside the apartment. The Wyoming division of criminal investigation sent a forensics lab technician to help gather evidence at the scene. Evidence at the scene, along with subsequent interviews, led authorities to believe that the woman was likely murdered. A person of interest has been identified, and the case has been turned over to the converse county attorney to determine if charges will be filed.
Authorities have not released the victim's identity.
