Ghosts Set to Leave Casper

It's official: the Casper Ghosts are leaving. The team announced today that it has given notice to Casper City officials that it intends to move to Grand Junction Colorado.

The move is pending final approval from the Grand Junction City Council, but for now the move is fairly immanent.

Speculation on the move began when the Monfort Investment Group, who owns the Colorado Rockies, bought the team before the 2011 season.

Dick Monfort said in a statement today that "Casper has served as a tremendous home to our organization." He also said that it was a difficult decision to leave Casper, but that the team believes it will benefit as a whole from the move.

The Ghosts played 10 seasons in Casper.
