Man Arrested For High Speed Chase

UPDATE & CORRECTION: Adam McClure was has been located and taken into custody. McClure is only a person of interest in the case and is not currently facing charges related to the crime. Not identified as man Martin met up with.





A man is facing a minimum of 55 years behind bars after a lengthy chase leading into Natrona County lands. Police apprehended the suspect early evening hours Tuesday, but it wasn't until the interview with the suspect that things became unbelievable. K2's David Furtado was at the courthouse where the suspect made his first appearance in court.

At the courthouse Judge Brown presided over the initial appearance of 20 year old Kyle Martin who is facing multiple charges including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and felony theft. Judge Brown set Martin’s bond at 500 thousand dollars based on recommendation from the state as to being a danger to society and a flight risk.


Kyle Martin faces 6 charges for a series of events that took place Tuesday morning into the early afternoon hours.


“Officers engaged in a pursuit through East Casper which ended near the area off of Cole Creek in Natrona County,” said Lieutenant Jeremy Tremel with the Casper Police Department.;


Police were able to apprehend Martin after he fled on foot from the vehicle which was stuck. The vehicle was logged into evidence by police.


“But it wasn’t until later in the evening we received a telephone call indicating that we might want to look in the vehicle a little bit closer, a little bit sooner than we had,” said Lt. Tremel. “We ended up making entrance into the vehicle and we located a 95 year old female who had been located in the trunk in that vehicle.”


That's when the plot thickened, according to the interviews with Martin described in the police report, Martin had been driving a stolen pickup that he left at a neighborhood near Nancy English Park and left on foot. The interviews provided more information on..


“Numerous auto thefts in the Natrona County area as well as several burglaries.”


Police say Martin then met up with another male according to police. The two entered their kidnap victims home to evade police that were scattered throughout the area. Police say the other male grabbed and bound the 95 year old with duct tape before Martin headed to the Eastridge Mall, where the chase started, in the victim's car, and the victim in the trunk.


The 95 year old, suffering multiple cuts to her head and face.


“Preliminary charges, as the case is still ongoing, now he's being incarcerated under aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery as well as a couple of conspiracy charges related to those crimes,” said Lt. Tremel


As these charges are felony charges, Martin did not enter a plea during his initial appearance. His next appearance has yet to be scheduled.
