Evening Anchor / Producer
In Xavier Walton's first year at K2TV, he was the recipient of the Wyoming Association of Broadcaster's Reporter of the Year.
He joined the K2 News Team in June 2012 as the Riverton bureau reporter.
Xavier was born and raised in northern California. After graduating with honors from Capital Christian High School in Sacramento, he decided to attend California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Xavier discovered his passion for being a news reporter during his internships in Columbus, OH and Denver, CO. After covering natural disasters and chasing weather storms for two straight summers he was hooked.
To improve his unpolished skills as a reporter and better prepare himself for his first job, Xavier spent his later college years writing and serving as the school newspaper's News Editor.
Xavier started in Riverton as the bureau reporter in June of 2012 and five months later he was offered a position in Casper to co-anchor K2's Weekend Edition as well as deliver Wyoming 's statewide weather forecast. Without hesitation Xavier accepted, packed his bags and moved to the "Oil City."
Following a short stint in Fremont County and on K2's weekend show, Xavier was then asked to co-anchor Good Morning Wyoming five days a week, along with K2's exclusive Noon Show.
Xavier enjoys being able to provide creative and invigorating stories that people care about. He loves interacting with the community and having the privilege of telling their stories.
Xavier feels honored to be a member of the K2 News Team and looks forward to seeing all that the "Cowboy State" has to offer.
Feel free to email Xavier with any tips, suggestions, or story ideas. While the Internet isn't cheap, he's always open for business.
